Gifts and temptations

The three spiritual gifts which belong most naturally to the gut zone are justice, peace and patience. The three which belong most naturally to the heart zone are kindness, gentleness and creativity. The three which belong most naturally to the head zone are wisdom, faithfulness and joy. HEAD versus HEART encourages us to value the diversity of gifts in others - and to value and develop our own gifts.

The three zones also bring their own temptations: arrogance, idleness and anger in the gut zone; pride, deceit and envy in the heart zone; greed, cowardice and gluttony in the head zone. HEAD versus HEART allows us to face and address our temptations in a new way, understanding their methods and motivations. HEAD versus HEART also allows us to discern the gifts in others when all we can see on the surface are the "end results" of their temptations...
